Red Ribbon Week 2019

Dear Parents,                                                                                                             

            The Sharon School will be participating in a school-wide program called Red Ribbon Week.  Red Ribbon Week has been observed in school communities across the United States for many years. 

           This program gives students an opportunity to become aware of the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.  Throughout the week of October 28 through November 1 we will be having school-wide theme days to promote staying healthy.  For your planning purposes, below are the scheduled theme days.

Theme Days 

Monday, October 28 - "Team up against drugs."
wear sports team clothing (college, professional, high school, recreation shirts, jerseys, etc. 

 Tuesday, October 29 - "Stay healthy, be drug free.  Reach out and help your community."
Students will donate an item to be donated to the local food pantry.  
Pre-K - Boxed Instant Potatoes, Canned/Bag Tuna Fish
Kindergarten - Boxed Instant Potatoes, Rice side dishes(boxed), Canned/Bag Tuna Fish
1st Grade - Peanut Butter, Jelly (plastic only), Boxed kid snacks(ie. granola bars, fruit snacks, etc.)
2nd Grade - Boxes of Cereal, Coffee, Tea Bags
3rd Grade -Canned Fruit, Canned Veggie Mix, Canned Carrots
4th Grade - Package of Juice Boxes, Canned Manwich, Canned Chef Boyardee

Wednesday, October 30 - "Crazy About Being Drug Free." 
Wear silly socks, crazy hair, etc.

Thursday, October 31 - "Say BOO to Drugs."

Wear your costume to school!

Friday, November 1 - "Red Day"
Wear red!

Please ask your child about the theme of each day to discuss what they have learned.
